This is what she had to say:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Here are some more good links for information on RDA, FRBR and FRAD.\u00a0 If any of you know of any others, be sure to send them in!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/metadataregistry.org\/rdabrowse.htm\">http:\/\/metadataregistry.org\/rdabrowse.htm<\/a> &#8211; The list of registered RDA elements and vocabularies.\u00a0 They will be linked from the RDA Online tool.\u00a0\u00a0 Thanks to Diane Hillmann for pointing this good link out.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rda-jsc.org\/rda.html\">http:\/\/www.rda-jsc.org\/rda.html<\/a> &#8211; This is the new address of the RDA main page on the Joint Steering Committee website.\u00a0 Be sure to check out the FAQ\u2019s.\u00a0 This replaces the first address listed on the earlier blog post.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rda-jsc.org\/docs\/5sec6rev.pdf\">http:\/\/www.rda-jsc.org\/docs\/5sec6rev.pdf<\/a> &#8211; Issues deferred until after the first release of RDA.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rda-jsc.org\/rdapresentations.html\">http:\/\/www.rda-jsc.org\/rdapresentations.html<\/a> &#8211; This page lists recent and future presentations on RDA given by members of the JSC and others involved with the development of RDA.\u00a0 One to keep an eye on.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/today\/cyberlc\/feature_wdesc.php?rec=4554\">http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/today\/cyberlc\/feature_wdesc.php?rec=4554<\/a> \u2013 This is an Library of Congress webcast on FRBR, from Barbara Tillett.\u00a0 It\u2019s not in their other webcast site because it was for non-catalogers.\u00a0 It is a good overview that talks about practical applications.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tsig.wikispaces.com\/Pre-conference+2009+presentation+materials\">http:\/\/tsig.wikispaces.com\/Pre-conference+2009+presentation+materials<\/a> \u2013 these are the power points and other materials that go along with the Pre-conference \u201cFrom rules to entities: cataloging with RDA\u201d held in Montreal. \u00a0<strong>They are very good<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.d-nb.de\/standardisierung\/formate\/marc_symposium.htm\">http:\/\/www.d-nb.de\/standardisierung\/formate\/marc_symposium.htm<\/a> &#8211; We posted this before, but its worth another mention. These are the slides and presentations from the German symposium on their MARC21 project.\u00a0 There are several on RDA that are really good.\u00a0 They are in English. Bring up two sessions, one to watch the YouTube video and the other to look at the slides.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/marc\/marc-functional-analysis\/frbr.html\">http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/marc\/marc-functional-analysis\/frbr.html<\/a> &#8211; This has several documents from MARC Standards that deal with MARC and FRBR, including mappings.\u00a0 It also has a FRBR display tool that allows you to create a sample FRBR display from MARC records.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rda-jsc.org\/docs\/5sec7rev.pdf\">http:\/\/www.rda-jsc.org\/docs\/5sec7rev.pdf<\/a> &#8211; This document lists the changes made to AACR2 during the development of RDA.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.archive.org\/details\/ResourceDescriptionAccessrdaDraftNov.2008\">http:\/\/www.archive.org\/details\/ResourceDescriptionAccessrdaDraftNov.2008<\/a> &#8211; Karen Coyle\u2019s zipped copies of the Nov. 2008 draft of RDA draft.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifla.org\/VII\/s13\/icp\/\">http:\/\/www.ifla.org\/VII\/s13\/icp\/<\/a> &#8211; IFLA statement of international cataloging principles.\u00a0 This is a replacement for the Paris Principles.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/bibliographic-future\/rda\/\">http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/bibliographic-future\/rda\/<\/a> &#8211; Site for the U.S. National libraries test of RDA.\u00a0 Has list of testing partners, and background information<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/bibliographic-future\/rda\/test-partners.html\">http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/bibliographic-future\/rda\/test-partners.html<\/a> &#8211; this is the list of the testing partners that is on the above site.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/frbr.slis.kent.edu\/\">http:\/\/frbr.slis.kent.edu\/<\/a> &#8211; this is the website for Kent State\u2019s FRBR project.\u00a0 There are links on the site to their other presentations including the following:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/frbr.slis.kent.edu\/presentations\/ALA2009-midwinter-FRBR.pdf\">http:\/\/frbr.slis.kent.edu\/presentations\/ALA2009-midwinter-FRBR.pdf<\/a>\u00a0 &#8211; Presentation given at the ALCTS FRBR Interest Group during 2009 ALA Midwinter called \u201cDeveloping a FRBR-Based System to Effectively Support User Tasks\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/exlibris.memphis.edu\/music\/mla\/glennan.pdf\">http:\/\/exlibris.memphis.edu\/music\/mla\/glennan.pdf<\/a> &#8211; This slide presentation \u201cFrom AACR2 to RDA: An Evolution\u201d was given in 2006, but it has good background information.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/celeripedean.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/12\/code4lib-and-frbr\/\">http:\/\/celeripedean.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/12\/code4lib-and-frbr\/<\/a> &#8211; this article has lots of really good links in it for FRBR, RDA, and FRAD.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cidoc.ics.forth.gr\/frbr_drafts.html\">http:\/\/cidoc.ics.forth.gr\/frbr_drafts.html<\/a> &#8211; The drafts for FRBRoo, which as far as I can tell, is a joint effort of museums and libraries to align the FRBR and the CIDOC (a committee of the International Council of Museums) Conceptual Reference Model.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our RDA Librarian, Karen,\u00a0came to me this week with even more RDA resources that she wanted to share with our community.
