Manual Review is a visual examination of authority controlled headings in your bibliographic records. MARS 2.0 Manual Review is performed by experienced MARS 2.0 staff librarians and library technicians, and results in a catalog of records with fewer errors and inconsistencies than machine processing alone can provide. A number of MARC Update conversions are more complex than simply changing a field tag or subfield code to the current value. Some fields, such as the 007, often need to be added to a record. MARC 21 is a result of the combination of the United States and Canadian MARC formats (USMARC and CAN/MARC). These data and the code in 008/39 (Cataloging source) specify the parties responsible for the bibliographic record.
