008 position 23 -- Form of item
This fixed field position indicates the form of the catalogued item. It can include:
blank - none of the following a - microfilm b - microfiche c - microopaque/microcard d - large print f - braille r - regular print reproduction (eye-readable print, such as a photocopy, Xerox, facsimile) s - electronic | - no attempt to code
Choosing to verify on the 008 position 23 allows for stricter matching parameters, especially in cases where the collection contains large print and electronic data.
