Have RDA Records Now?

As one of LC’s RDA test partners, we are currently working on our processes now to ensure that not only will RDA records be able to be processed without damaging existing RDA content, but that we will be able to utilize our existing validation and cleanup systems to give you back the very best available records.

Revision to RDA Testing Policy

We’ve recently received information about a revision to the RDA testing policy that we had posted a few weeks ago. You should be able to find the updated information here: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/RDAtest/rdatest.html

** Note: The update may not be posted yet on the Library of Congress site, it is dated Sept. 2010.

The important aspects of the revision in terms of Authority Control are:

  • The second indicator for the 7XX fields is to be 4 not 7.
  • There will not be a $2 added to the 7XX either
  • Stats Page

    Any time we process a file for your institution, we generate a Statistical Summary report.  Within this report, we list match-rates, types of records processed, as well as the number of fields changed during processing.  While this is all well and good, as soon as that report is sent out to you, those statistics have been forgotten.
